Super effective and important. |
Music and animation are seamless, the style of childrens book works flawlessly, all in all it's just a wonderful ad I hope the ban is lifted! |
i really like the message portrayed in my ad. |
beginning is different but engaging but leads to a more serious message which needs to be addressed. |
an engaging way to present an important messgae |
Very shocking advert that may make some viewers uncomfortable but otherwise the point wouldn't get across to them. |
Suitable for all viewers, specifically targeted at children as they are the future generation and the ones that can make a change. |
Very honest and emotional advert that shows consumers the damage on wildlife from mass production. |
Letting us be aware of the destruction caused for animals and wildlife and Iceland not selling products with palms oil while letting customers and viewers be aware of a problem that needs to be fixed. |
I love what the company is doing to protect the orangutans by removing palm oil from their products and bringing attention to the issue in an eyecatching and honest way. |
However I feel the voice over artist should be changed; her voice just didn't fit with it at all, and she seemed almost monotone at times. |
I like it how this shop decided to not use palm oil for the orangutans that are4 getting killed. |
It was a very interesting advert and made me realise about the dying animals. |
I really enjoyed watching this advert because there was a moral behind the advert . |
also I think its really good how there removing palm oil out of there products it shows there against deforestation |
An amazing message that needs to be spread. |
The cute cartoon at the beginning starts a sense of false security. |
This may scare young children due to the dark part in the middle of the story but overall the message is clear and the text at the end makes this even more clear. |
The images and style for this piece have conveyed the message well and without doubt. |
The music and sound effects for this piece have also kept the atmosphere relevant. |
Such a heartfelt , moving advertisement. |
I loved how the narrative went from being like a nursery school. |
childish rhyme to so deep. |
This commercial really does make people stop and take a second to stop using palm oil in their products. |
Wgich I don't think would e hard. |
Thumbs up to Iceland for bring out such a sad tragedy that is going unnoticed by the general public! |
Loved the advert just shown. |
It took an unexpectedly dark turn in the best way. |
Beautifully done. |
Gave me goosebumps. |
Love the awareness in the video. |
Love that it's aimed at younger audiences. |
Beautiful! |
I love how creative this is. |
It is really a work of art and it is amazing, if i could rate this more than 10 is would. |
Very political advert. |
Starts off very sweet like a children's rhyme, but then turns very dark. |
There is no Christmas feel. |
The message is very strong and does have an impact. |
The story is very clear and it does show togetherness. |
I might be biased but I loved it. |
I'm passionate about the subject and this advert showed everything perfectly. |
It was beautiful at first but then the lack of colour was amazing. |
i loved this video as the commercial was helping a charity. |
the video was very cool as it looked like a child book. |
i would love to hear more. |
I did not know that we lose 23 orangutangs a DAY! |
I honestly did not know that and i really don't think this advert should have been banned, it doesn't really have much to do with Christmas though |
Very impacting advertisement. |
It has a powerful and important message and shows a good side of Iceland. |
The animation too is very good, and the vice is perfect above it. |
Oh my god I love this so much. |
. |
. |
. |
. |
It's so intense and unexpected, it's so cute and fluffy but hard hitting and caring. |
The animation is amazing, some proper talented artists and poets worked on this one. |
Love it! |
The style and music got me feeling all kinda ting. |
This commercial gives a lot of environment awareness. |
This is more a good save the animal campaign but not really for shampoo. |
They had to put more of the shampoo displayed so that the audience knows that its about the shampoo. |
My favourite advert yet! |
I think the message is amazing and I love how Iceland have contributed to making a safer environment to animals because everything counts! |
hearing it was banned thought oh no but looking at this and seeing it don't understand why it was banned/ i am fed up of all this meaningless stuff to buy stuff i don't need. |
this has an important message |
I love this advert - I can't believe it's been banned! |
It shows how devastating deforestation is. |
I like how the voice over is a rhyming poem. |
This advert is a different one, firstly, apart from the wording in the top left of the screen you wouldn't have a clue what its advertising or what company it is from. |
The advert has absolutely nothing to do with christmas and there are no representations of any products that this company sells. |
it does make you think what is this advert trying to show us, then as the advert goes on you see what its trying to inform us all of. |
It does seem like its aimed at a younger audience but maybe that is so that it grabs the attention of the children and highlights the issues to them as well as their parents to try and help save the "rang-tang". |
it does seem like Iceland have been given a slot for a christmas advert but have decided to use it to get a point across and to make the most of their tv time. |
I am unsure why they would choose this time of year to start this campaign but it does highlight the issues around the world especially by including facts and figures. |
it is an advert that you would remember and with its rhyming text it does stick in your mind. |
it made me aware of something I didn't even know existed so would make me check what contains palm oil or not so I think the fact they have gone for a more meaningful advert instead of trying to advertise their produce is a brave and respectful move. |
This advert had a very good animation as well which depicted their point and shed light on this topic of palm oil which is not widely discussed. |
I love the story line - it is really down to earth, political (but to the right amount) and i like how it stands for a cause. |
I also like the animation on this commercial. |
I would watch this again and buy from the company. |
A very effective advertising campaign which focuses on important environmental issues too, this is very moving, but I think I have seen this idea elsewhere, it may need to be changed slightly. |
Amazing advert with a brilliant story line and message. |
Definitely helps promote this company. |
Although is is not Christmas themed it is still a very good advert. |
It really creepy at the beggining because of the voice of the girl, but the message its really clear and it gets the attention of the sapectator. |
YES TO THIS ADVERT. |
YES. |
This advert straight away captures people attention because they want to know what it is about. |
It has such an important message and is helping raise awareness. |
The company is selfless here as they could have easily shown all their great products but chose to do this instead. |
Christmas isn't just about receiving and eating, it's about taking care of each other and the world and this advert shows that perfectly. |
I love this advert. |
A really touching advert and a great shame it got banned. |
Spreads a very important message to viewers and is a great job well done by Iceland. |
The entire commercial is very heartfelt and very peculiar as a theme for Christmas. |
There is not an excessive overload of Iceland products being displayed or the emphasis on materialism as majority of commercials portray. |
However, this is also a clever marketing technique and the Christmas period is the epitome for profit. |
This commercial concept makes the public feel guilty and urges them to buy Iceland's own products. |
But overall the advert is informative about what big companies try to cover up. |
This advert was empowering and simple as it took a major issue and related it to a simple storyline that made it more peronal and easier to understand. |
However I feel it could be quite upsetting. |
Amazing script! |
Amazing art for the animation! |
The message has been delivered successfully and it is so touching! |
All adverts should be like this one. |
Iceland has done amazing job and i am 200% supporting their cause! |
Would definitely rewatch and share! |
I am so pleased with this advertisement, as a multi-stakeholder group this is a major step forward. |
I do hope this is a turning point and the industry can prove once and for all that sustainable palm oil is possible. |
It needs to. |
This will hopefully make aware all people of the negative impacts palm oil has on the environment and most importantly, the animals. |
I think that this is a really nice advert and delivers a greta political message and emotional. |
It may not exactly look like christmas but it does discuss christmas themes |
I LOVE THIS CHRISTMAS ADVERT SO MUCH! |
It has an amazing message behind it that everyone should see and watch it! |
Truly amazing animation and colours too. |
I like that this advertisement is very different to other Christmas adverts. |
It does not mention Christmas or show any themes for Christmas but it is for a great cause and brings awareness to the devastation that palm oil causes. |
As it is a cartoon, is will also appeal to a younger audience who will learn about this problem from this advertisement too. |
It does not capture the spirit of Christmas in the traditional sense but it is similar to the ads which states something along the lines of 'a dog is for life, not only for Christmas'. |
Overall, this advert has an extremely good message to it and I liked watching it. |
Best advert that has been on TV for a while. |
As a conservation student this advert is a 2 minute miracle as it educates about everything we dedicate our lives to. |
A heart warming advert of which should be shown on TV despite the political element. |
Iceland have done a great job in making a simple but powerful advert for all ages. |
Almost cried! |
It presents a very well known truth about our environment so I think it will touch the hearts of many people especially those who care about the environment. |
The quality of the video was not the best, however, but I am sure it can be changed. |
I love the idea and the way this add was thought. |
The rhythm of the advert was great also really detailed. |
It was weird to see that it moved to a sad touchig advert, it was good. |
A very powerful commercial. |
It really hit home, and the cuteness of the orangutan is a big player in how effective this video is. |
All in all I feel it will force change in people's lives eventually, if not straight away. |
it was sad and i understood what the ad was about , i feel that it pushes someone to help and stop the destruction of forests |
Absolutely fantastic. |
Flawless animation tells a massively important story. |
I think the content was handled sensitively and appropriately for a family audience, but is truthful and real. |
Excellent message |
Wow. |
Greatly touching and a very sentimental story-line. |
The rhyme and rhythm of the ad brought attention to the ad, and it was smart to make a children's cartoon, bringing more emotion to it. |
I love this advert and I believe it is a great shame that it was banned from the TV. |
The message behind this advert is very important and should be a part of the christmas adverts |
THIS ADVERT IS TOO POLITICAL. |
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CHRISTMAS NOR IS IT FAMILY FRIENDLY. |
I DO NOT LIKE THIS ADVERT ONE BIT. |
I really enjoyed the storyline of this as it really packs a message and the juxtaposition between the little girl and the monkey is really interesting. |
The sorrowful music also really helps to add to the storyline as it made me feel sad and also making me want to do something about it. |
It wasn't really Christmassy, but it was very sad and relevant advert. |
I, myself, am an environmentalist, and this advert bring to light and ever-growing problem in our world today. |
I think the animation is cute and well drawn. |
However, some parts of this advert can be a bit upsetting for younger viewers. |
Regardless, I think it is an important message to send to younger people, and this advert shows that in a quick and simple to understand way. |
This will definitely make me shop a lot more at Iceland, as the prices are cheap and now the products are much better for the environment then before. |
Well done Iceland, this is a great stride towards a better and greener world for the future generations. |
This video is too amazing for words. |
Iceland has perfectly captured the situation we put orangutans in every day when we cut down their forests. |
It has to stop, and Iceland has found a great way to display this. |
the commercial is interesting, it expresses on a hair product, nevertheless transmits the importance of the orangutans, as a significant species; it is developed from a social conscience point of view. |
The commercial is produced in an excellent way as it is an animation. |
This is the best Christmas advert ever because it is everything a typical Christmas advert isn't. |
It shows the awful effects of the over commercialised holiday and the real consequences on our world and our wildlife. |
I think it is really great that Iceland have removed the palm oil from their branded products, and hopefully other companies will follow suit. |
A real shame that this was banned to be shown, however the uproar behind this meant that it has now reached a larger audience than it originally would have. |
Dislike this completely. |
Most palm-oil used for bio fuels anyway. |
Using a contentious environmental issue to sell products seems immoral. |
Good graphics, well chosen voice over. |
Heart warming at times but overall depressing. |
very important message deserves a captivating portrayal. |
this video is friendly to all ages meaning the message is told in a way everyone can understand the importance of stopping deforestation and the palm oil industry. |
the fact it is emotional makes it memorable, along with its attractive animation and colours cleverly contrasting the bleakness of the scenes of the forest. |
I have absolutely fallen in love with this advert. |
It is so emotional, and true, and I think it is really important that people are aware of things like this that happen. |
I loved the storyline! |
It really pulls your heart into it and makes you think about a side of the issue that you would never normally consider. |
The images are amazing and I love how it's child themed and adult themed so it captures the wider variety of audiences. |
This was a very well done advert that shows how palm oil is causing deforestation in our rainforests, it isnt very good as a christmas advert because it doesnt have any christmas spirit in the advert itself. |
I like the message behind this advert and it is very powerfully displayed. |
I think that what Iceland is doing to try and combat this problem is great, but I am not sure that Christmas time is the best time to be showing this. |
Wow! |
What a amazing advertisement it was very interesting and informative at the same time. |
I was glued to the computer screen the whole time |
Such an important message to get by. |
The voice over really makes it good, it could be better if it was more of a childs voice as it would emphasise the innocence of the child wanting to make a change and it would be more touching to the audience. |
the overall story of the commercial was fantastic. |
the main target viewers of this commercial are young children which talks to them with the language of poem which is more easy for them to understand and also it sticks in their mind. |
the imaging of the commercial was not strong enough and young kids tend to attract to more strong visualization. |
overall I think it has a good impact on children to change their attitude. |
This advert really tugs at the heart strings and makes you feel for the cause. |
It is easy to understand and well-narrated, and the switch between colour and black/white really shows the change of tone. |
The animations are nice and while the advert may not be easy to watch for some viewers, it is honest and needs to be said. |
Not your average christmas advert. |
Is incredibly moving, and definitely makes you stop and think. |
Makes a hard impact, and makes sure that you're thinking about it for a long time afterwards. |
Is highly likely to make people research into the effects of Palm Oil, and what difference they can make. |
Really thought provoking and quite upsetting, the message was an extremely important one for the world at the moment and demonstrates a good cause however I am aware that this advert was taken down for being too political. |
i think this advertisement is very educational on the use of palm oil and really brings to lights about what we buy whether that be food or products such as toiletries or cleaning products. |
I think it also allows other supermarkets to look at their own shops. |
This advert pulled on my heart strings and is designed perfectly to think twice about what products your using and go have a look at what Iceland has to offer. |
However, it doesn't show anything to do with christmas apart from giving and sharing. |
the advert is informative on a serious world problem which needs to be fixed. |
It also get's the message across in a simple but effective way. |
Didn't really get why the Orangutan was doing everything but then when it showed the perspective of the Orangutan it was super effective and I felt super sad for it and am happy that Iceland are removing palm oil from their products and helping to save Orangutans! |
Amazing, powerful and moving. |
Fighting fora great cause such as deforestation and animal rights! |
Love the rhyme scheme as it makes it more catchy towards listeners - and also the cartoonish style which will attract adults but also children which are the future generation. |
I think the message within the video is really something all advertisements need to promote, which is that our environment needs to be sustained and we have to do that to keep it alive. |
I think that the visuals were great, and colour changed depending on the scene and the story which really aided the impact of the image. |
I believe that this advert is produced in a way that makes watchers realise the devastating effects of the use of palm oil in products. |
It highlights the issues of palm oil and show the world whats really happening and also encourages us to stop buying palm oil. |
The advert is good but its not really a christmas advert because it has nothing to do with christmas at all. |
I think this advert is very appealing and gets its point across really well, it is very moving. |
However, I don't see what this has do to with Christmas. |
The animation is very well done and the characters appeal to a younger audience. |
I like that this includes facts because it lets everyone know whats happening around them. |
I like that its about a little girl trying to help a monkey. |
Iceland adverts are not as good as this so i really do like the new apporach here. |
I also like the way it is in a cartoon format |
Amazing advert really well put together its really fun advert and the advert says a lot about the store and has made want to buy from there Iceland shows that they care for the customer. |
This advert is ver clever by using the animation and rhyming making it appealing to children and clearly advertises what is going on in the world. |
Like the video say NO PALM OIL CHRISTMAS , It's emotional video touched my heart , the story is good , the music is good to I will recommended this to my friend . |
A very weird advert that I didn't really think made sense as the monkey didn't want to touch the palm oil but messed up the rest of the room. |
I found that the juxtaposing of the carefree cartoon and the destruction of forests was really moving. |
The purpose of the advert was clearly shown and I find that it is easily conveyed to the viewer. |
At the very beginning i din't really enjoy the poem and the music did however fit but i didn't know what was going on until. |
. |
. |
The poem took a turn, it changed my mind and made me have sympathy for the orangutan. |
It also made it even better that Iceland are removing palm oil from there products which persuades me to shop at Iceland as there helping the environment. |
The music really helped as well, it was sad and touching which really hit me and stood out. |
Good advert, i will be shopping at Iceland in the future! |
this is by far the best advert ive seen today. |
the message was so powerful, it really touched me at the end when we get informed about the deaths of the orangutans. |
Also the fact that yous have removed palm oil from your products it fantastic. |
Color scheme: Up beat and lovable. |
Audio: sweet and makes you think. |
You do not know it is an advert until the end so it keeps your attention better |
The best advert I have seen in a while. |
Really cartoonish, family friendly advert showing something everybody can understand. |
The importance of the environment and our impact. |
Good style video , very beautifull animation . |
The music is good . |
I feel it . |
The iceland is great shop and good company . |
The video and music are in good combination . |
The story raises awareness and is very warming. |
The poem is well written, however the animation could be better quality, even though it is very similar to old christmas movies |
this ad is very hard hitting, the ad is also very truful and honost and understanding. |
i feel this ad puts itst point across well about what is hapening to our forests around the world. |
and the effect it has on animals that live there |
i think the ad was very compelling and moving. |
it is a clever way for iceland to brand themselves as it shows they care. |
overall great ad ! |
it was a really cool and child-friendly advert that i actually found somewhat pleasuring, it would be really good to see more advert like this. |
I can say that I liked this video track because it showed about baby and kids shampoo and as well this product doesn't have palm oil which is not safe for nature. |
In my opinion this video track and items are really good to advertise for people who have kids and as well for those who like to safe environment form wasting. |
No bad review about this video track and product this time. |
I have heard about this advert because it was banned on TV because it was too political. |
To me, I think it should be allowed on TV because it is a very empowering advert and made me very upset finding out we lose orangutans every day. |
However, it fills me with hope knowing that Iceland is trying to help save the rainforest |
i liked it , it is true, we need to remove palm oil and save the forest and the animals too, the video was enjoyable, especially with the poetry and the lady soft voice. |
I think this is a fantastic video. |
It has a strong and powerful message, lots of attention to detail, fantastic quality and a great art style. |
I could possibly see this having a few problems getting on to TV though due to the controversy of this topic but I think you should be determined to get this on TV and spread the message! |
This is a really unique and meaningful advert. |
I already know it has been cancelled from UK screens but I think that's a real shame because it is special. |
that is a very strong advert would not of thought it would have that deep twist to it. |
. |
. |
but is very true and having this type of still keeping the add child friendly opening up the the platform of the viewers. |
You will fight back and thrive HOPE. |
Great advert and video really brought a smile to my face, i loved the images and the style. |
Iceland - No palm oil Christmas. |
My review: This is trying to say that people and children should not use palm oil and you should never buy products with palm oil. |
Iceland is trying to provide their foods with palm oil so it can be environmentally friendly. |
This was a nice advert to watch i like the use of dramatic music and the peom but i didnt really get how that tied into iceland. |
Amazing prosecution of the message behind the ad. |
Including the shock factor to your mission to help wildlife in need and spreading your goals. |
Very deep message indeed |
Iceland had a very touching commercial that brought up a real life issue. |
At the end of the commercial it is pretty sad, but they show that there's still hope to save these orangutans. |
I like how this ad was trying to convince people to save the environment, using a small child and rhythms. |
This made me think about how we should do this to ensure a better future for a children. |
This shampoo commercial appeals to emotion. |
It makes the customer want to but the shampoo in order to help the environment. |
It also tackles a real world problem that will help improve their brand. |
The ad looks like children were meant to view it as it rhymes and in cartoon. |
but how can a baby orangutan know what palm oil is. |
So sorry for our animals . |
We need to think about our feature and nature . |
Nice story and very good cartoon. |
Music is very good. |
Thanks |
i did not enjoy the storyline of this advert however, the imagery used was very effective. |
I also liked the music that was played throughout the advert. |
aww, a very emotional advert. |
I especially love the images, music, actors and this all made me feel guilty due to us destroying natures habitat. |
An extremely important advert that shouldn't have been cancelled, more promotional campaigns like this should be aired at all time, excellent advertisement with a great message. |
It is definitely a heartfelt and deep advert that will impact a lot of people. |
The animation was perfect especially when it came to distuingishing the orangutang and the dark trees. |
The storyline was great too! |
I feel like it is not a christmas advert at all and does not promote iceland in any way but it does spread awareness which i do like. |
Great animation , Great Meaning And Great Rhymes i love it its emotional and true, and its trying to say to stop cutting the forest and let them live ! |
I love it ! |
but no chrismas spirit but thats great too :) |
The animation in the advertisement is very colourful and the orangutan is very cute, the orangutan in the girl's room is a very creative idea. |
The narrator was very clear and expressive, as if the advert was telling a child a story. |
This is a pioneering approach to communicating serious problems to the public both old and young and is likely to be listened too. |
The black and white animation for the destruction of the jungles was harrowing and effective and makes me think more seriously on the orangutan issue. |
I think it was good it kept me interested and the music helped make me feel bad for the money. |
The ad is good because it makes you want to make a change and makes you feel bad for the monkey. |
Very very poweful advert with a strong and important message, the storyline was immense the way the orangutan was made to look like a nuisance until we found out the real reason why he was there. |
The advert being animated was also a very good twist to have as it makes it appeal more to kids aswell as adults. |
The use of Rhyme by the commentator was also very good and made the adverts meaning more powerful. |
although it didnt capture the christmas spirit aswell as other adverts Iceland show us that there are also other important issues happening around the world. |
A very emotional and touching advert. |
It's one that makes me think and really evaluate what the animal must be going through. |
I think it's quite a clear message and gets it out the viewer simple and easy to understand. |
I believe this advertisement is really effective in spreading awareness about the thousands of acres of animal habitats being destroyed every day and therefore losing the animals themselves. |
It is very emotionally beautiful and while not focusing on Christmas, it is showing that every little bit helps. |
this advert didnt really show that it was iceland, it was a touching story and made me realise what we are doing when we take down tree's and ruin wildlife. |
Very thought provoking, very meaningful and deep and this advert most of all is facts. |
It's all true. |
I think this will have an extremely positive impact on many people and empower us to take steps forward in order to help these animals. |
I think that this advert was very powerful and cute it helped me feel bad for the orangutans and want to help them. |
This is a very powerful advert! |
Amazing. |
Touching and emotional, such a statement could never have been executed more perfectly, flawless animation and design and a moving poem alongside captures the giving and selfless nature of Christmas we so often forget. |
Absolutely well done. |
I like how thhis advert is informattiive on a global problem. |
I like the art and overall style of the video. |
This video has a good duration. |
A pretty stupid advert for something as serious a deforestation, it doesnt feel genuine coming from a company that sells palm oil such as iceland, in general a good concept ruined through stupid execution |
A great advert which put a tear in my eye. |
It brings attention towards things and animals that we as humans are causing problems with yet don't know about it. |
It does however contain political views which aren't allowed in adverts and doesn't at all relate to Christmas. |
I think they use an extremely political and serious issue to advertise themselves. |
As this advert will make people understand what is happening with the palm oil issue and as Iceland are removing palm oil from there products this will encourage people to buy at Iceland. |
Basically they are trying to make money of a very serious issue. |
This is terrible. |
i love how real this advert it, the animation is amazing, the speech is amazing, we need more people to fight for the earth for the animals. |
Excellent thought provoking advert. |
Good on Iceland for making an advert that has meaning and a real life issue. |
This will raise awareness. |
The animations are smooth and amazing. |
The poem with the rhyme is beautiful. |
As of late, palm oil has been used increasingly in popular products so the public are well informed. |
I thought that the animation style was easy on the eyes, as was the narration. |
Perhaps it could have been shorter. |
The story line is very deep and emotional, making us feel personally involved in the advert. |
The contrast of the cozy bedroom to the dark and ominous forest is poignant in conveying the horrible experiences suffered by the orangutans. |
i found this advert really powerful and it encourages me to do more to help our environment and i think it will encourage others as well. |
the animation was brilliant i thought it was a really good style of art, and the poem was really nice. |
although i think it would be better if it told us where we could donate money to save the rainforests, |
Very good ad, with a strong message inside it, no relevance to Christmas though but nevertheless a good commercial with sad music and nice voice |
I thought that the animation was very good and helped make the advert that bit more engaging. |
All tho the point it makes is strong i believe its a good thing because it makes you stop and think about the problem and what is really happening. |
At the start the video was really boring. |
but after some time it started to be emotinal and sad and thats what peapole will stay to see |
Extremely powerful, and the poetic touch is just lovely. |
The animation is visually pleasing as well. |
It doesn't really advertise Iceland at all, but that isn't what they're going for as far as I can tell, so it's all good. |
this is animation video. |
it says about sad story. |
peoples west environment so manky loss him house. |
but little girl give a good massage for peoples. |
we can learn someone this video. |
Its music is very good . |
And the product advertise is very good . |
And the animation of this cartoon also good. |
For this people are understand the meaning of the ad. |
I thought the advert has a strong and clear message, which would of resonated with many people. |
I liked the animation and it makes me value Iceland more as a brand. |
great animation, all the colours looked really appealing. |
the sound and directing was done really well. |
informative and to the point. |
different to a lot of adverts out right now. |
Amazing advert, the message it conveys is the most important one imaginable. |
Watching it you forget it's advertising a business, yet in my mind I always know that I will respect Iceland so much more. |
The music helps the story a lot - so does the shift to black and white (Except the orange of the orangutan). |
Emma Thompson (I think! |
) and her voice are perfect. |
Made me feel so angry that nothing is being done about this problem! |
The start keeps us in suspense but it does not portray Christmas in any way possible. |
This is a mistake within the Christmas season. |
The orangutan is a heartwarming item to compare to. |
amazing advert with an amazing message needs to be put everywhere love it and would like everyone to know about it this shows how the future is going to be if we don't change |
I think about this video that this video is just amazing so sadness it has on it. |
Actor voice is amazing. |
Music is good too and that monkey is so cute. |
gives a clear message of the problem making us emotional and fell sorry for the animals, then ending it off with a facts summary makes it really powerful and moving. |
It doesn't have that christmas feel which i expected on this video but i think actors are pretty good actually actor voices are good. |
That monkey is cute is everything is good. |
This advert is good, as it tries to prevent humans from deforesting places for oils that don't really benefit humans too much, and how would you like it if an orangutan destroyed your home? |
An emotional ad that should not have been banned from being shown on TV. |
Credit to Iceland for getting attention to the cause. |
Loved the message. |
It was a sad story well advert and the song was really good the actors knew their lines by heart not even one mistake it was awesome. |
nice ideea short and eficient, a lot of good rhymes with good message, nice animations with big emotional impact, nice campaign i would like to share it with others |
when I first saw it I didn't quite know what it was about, until later on. |
This advert was touching in a way, because i like animals and its not nice to see them get hurt. |
It appeals to all age ranges. |
The background and the scene relates to Christmas. |
the spirit of Christmas was it relevant to this time of year as Christmas is approaching fast |
Animated commercial will be watched by kids and black sad part may scare some children and i think to that is really bad . |
Voice actor is good i like her pronunciation of the words it clearly that she is a native speaker . |
The part on the end is cool and it fills your heart with great feelings. |
Very thought-provoking and emotional. |
The rhyme scheme makes the commercial more memorable and it conveys a very important message. |
The contrast between the orangutan in the room/ human in the forest is very clever |
Lovely commercial. |
Pulls your heart stings. |
It would be nice if it was a young girls voice instead, but it's still a really amazing commercial! |
It created sympathy for the audience during the middle section which was melancholy. |
This made Iceland look good as it was putting a good light on them to saving the planet and the biodiversity it contains. |
The use of animations during the advert made it seem friendly and approachable which is what Iceland wants it customers to be. |
Good premise for Iceland to develop good PR with potential customers. |
Characters are endearing and the portrayal of humans as the villains will make children and younger people want change. |
Very strong emotional impact and raises an issue everyone can relate to and seems to be a growing issue this day in age. |
Good visuals and sounds |
It had a very good meaning to the advert in that we lose our monkeys each year which has an appealing affect on the watcher. |
The positives about this advert are that we all get to see the harsh reality of what is really happening in the rain Forrests and it makes us think about the environment and how the animals that live In that habitat must be feeling. |
On the other hand it makes us not want to buy products because we think its destroying the rain forrest and the animals habitat and making the animals upset and this isn't good for business. |
The advert does not at all have any festiveness about it. |
i believe this advertisement was done for a great cause, something you don't always come across to. |
even though quality wise the image was not great, plus it is an advertisement for a grocery shop, it still makes a catchy advertisement |
It was touching, a live video of the whole process in reality would be more dramatic in my opinion, at first it was boring, childish, later, I understood the message. |
At the beginning I was skeptical about this commercial but then it has proved sceto be very profound and sentimental. |
The story was sad but kind of realistic and the images were realistic as well. |
The music was melodious so that you could feel inside the story and at the end I realised that the message was very important. |
However, this commercial can be considered too political and strong for children and Christmas time dealing with the topics of deforestation and the destruction of oranguntan's habitat. |
It was a very powerful and moving advert. |
The story of the orangutan losing his home because of deforestation was really sad and made me want to cry. |
The story's happy ending was a bit happier, but overall the message is really important, and it would encourage me to shop at Iceland. |
Lovely storyline and amazing video. |
Maybe a bit too long. |
I liked the story of the child wanting to help. |
Good job Iceland for creating this video and for caring about the animals. |
This Iceland no palm oil Christmas advertisment broke my heart. |
I was unaware of the impact it causes and will now no longer be purchasing that product and spread the world. |
Brilliant story, children will also understand and the message is important. |
Good job Iceland |
Iceland - No Palm Oil Christmas was one of the best Orangutan ads I have ever seen. |
it really impressed me. |
I really want to save Orangutan life |
I thought that the advert was quite moving with the true story that motivates the advert. |
I think it got across the message really well |
Wow this commercial looked great i found the music and and scenes here very nice this cartoon commercial looked very beautiful. |
I would like to recommend this to all of my family. |
what a stunning and powerful advert, its to the point and really has something great to say. |
its smart to use quite animation to get your point. |
Brilliant advert but I can't see what it has to do with Christmas. |
However it does have a brilliant message for everyone and I can't understand why it was banned by ofcom |
i think this is an amazing advert. |
it really shows the problems that palm oil is creating for the orangutans. |
i cant believe this advert has been banned from the tv. |
i think it should be shown many a time. |
i think they should sell orangutan things in iceland over christmas to support the orangutans. |
my daughter likes to call them orange tans because they are browny orange |
Video is very good. |
A serious topic has been raised. |
And it is very good that such a store has touched on such a topic. |
It is good. |
I like. |
Music is good . |
the video is made in a way that in understandable for children and for adult. |
this advert is really well made and I did feel emotional about the story but at the end there was an positive hopeful message. |
this puts Iceland in an good light and the poem was very fitting and I learnt something new. |
the animation made the story appealing and added an innocence to the story. |
I think the ad is fantastic. |
It has a very strong message that needs to be heard. |
Iceland have not only succeeded in promoting their brand at Christmas time but also promoting a truly worthy cause. |
I loved the animation and poetry which made the advert engaging. |
I like the fact that they as a company are looking to reduce palm oil products. |
I like the message of the advert, it is emotional and tells a story. |
I like the voiceover by the actress and the cartoon and drawings were good. |
Okay, to start off with this advert would be a lot better if it was an actual little girl saying the poem rather then an adult. |
The advert made me feel really depressed and sad. |
This was a really moving and touching advert that made me cry. |
It was done in a way that everyone can understand and relate to. |
It's clever, thought provoking and memorable. |
It has a clear message that really comes across. |
I love the start it would draw in children. |
But then becomes dark and scary so is not family suitable the cause is great and its great they support this cause but don't get dark. |
I think this is my favourite Christmas ad. |
I love the very nostalgic, happy, childish beginning, then the sudden juxtaposition with a serious, real-world problem, finishing with a hopeful note at the end. |
It makes me think much more highly of Iceland. |
WOW, finally an advert about real issues that educate people about the environment. |
Well done Iceland, the storyboard is fantastic and the poem is well written. |
It's a perfect advert, emotional and heartbreaking. |
The message of this commercial is very powerful and inspiring and I think the way they designed and expressed the idea is very good. |
To tell the truth, I caused a lot of sensation. |
The message is very clear and made me feel sad. |
From what I understood Iceland promoting charity however it wasnt so related to the festive times. |
I think this advert is a little random but once it gets going it really hits home. |
Good on iceland for tackling this subject. |
This ad tugged at my heart strings. |
The message is powerful. |
However, the commercial is not very effective at attention grabbing at first. |
The narrative is good but a bit dull and not very effective in delivering the message. |
I'm so angry that this commercial was banned. |
Yes, it's sad and scary, but it's the ugly truth, and people need to know about it so they can make informed choices on where to spend their money. |
Christmas is so often superficial and corporate that it's refreshing to see a large-scale company use their influence for good. |
I wholeheartedly support this. |
Uncomfortable to watch, this is an important issue, but the timing of this is all wrong. |
They portray the story like a nice little Christmas advert but is in fact nothing more than a skin-suit for a animal rights issues, and this is not handled with care. |
People want to be happy at Christmas time, this advert reflects poorly on the brand. |
Although it is does not contain a lot to do with with Christmas, it is very touching and emotional. |
It raises very strong beliefs and has an incredibly amazing message. |
I really love this advert! |
This is beautifully animated and has a good voice over. |
The poem/ story is well written and conveys the message perfectly. |
There is a great contrast between the safe enviroment of the girl and the cruel would destroying the forest. |
It has a good message and easy to follow. |
This is a totally different advert for Christmas. |
It is sad and people should care more about Palm oil use. |
I am glad that Iceland are taking action. |
It's about time the message of Palm Oil is reaching the masses. |
What a beautiful advert to send out an important message. |
I feel the voice should've been a childs voice though. |
This would not only match the fact that the animation is a young girl but also makes it more relatable to young people and shows that children should be aware of what is in their food and the consequences it has on the environment. |
this is not your typical christmas advert - it really makes you think, it has such a strong message that i should be shown everywhere. |
It has a good storyline and the voice over is fantastic. |
The animation and the video used is really good. |
It really made me go through the motions and made me emotional - sad. |
That this is happening in 2018 |
A sad story for children to watch. |
not something i would show my children even though it needs to reach them for target marketing to save the orangutans. |
very good animation to make it known but sadly this wont save the forests that easily. |
Iceland has taken a very unique approach this year for their Christmas commercial. |
I thought the animation was very detailed. |
The message was very invoking and thoughtful. |
It will make people think this Christmas. |
I am surprised to see Iceland getting behind such a campaign, but it is positive and ethical and it makes me have a more positive impression of the brand. |
I like how the scene comes about, showing the destruction of orangutans habitats, whilst still keeping it child friendly and easy to watch. |
A serious message delivered in a friendly way - I really like how this advert was put together. |
It is memorable, thought provoking and I would watch it again. |
This is the best advert I have seen this year. |
It is moving, thought provoking and truly heartfelt. |
It embodies the Christmas idea of helping others whilst also highlighting a worthy cause. |
It is very interesting that Iceland has chosen to take a environmental stance for Christmas. |
The awareness makes Iceland a reputable company. |
The animation was very good quality and the message empowering. |
The commercial is adorable and impactful. |
It is sweet but gets the point across that it needs to. |
The animation is well done and the characters are perfect. |
such a beautiful advert if only it wasn't banned on the television. |
would watch this again. |
it has a lot of meaning and is a great advert. |
This advert was different and had my attention from the start , i was sad to learn what the porpose of the advert was about in the end , it really made me stop and think and take note of what we as humans are doing to our world. |
At first I didn't liked it at all, but then when I understood the concept, of a scared animal that lost his house and parents due to the human deforestation for cosmetics and palm oil it seemed interesting. |
Still childish in my opinion, the animation looks like a cartoon for kids which in my opinion is not that suitable. |
Medium ranking as I support the concept but the presentation could be much better. |
The advertisement is very instructive, informative and has an important message. |
It refers to recent environmental issues like palm oil. |
It has a very positive message. |
This advert has caused such controversy this year but I truly feel it is one of the best adverts about - even though it didnt make it onto television. |
I think it is proving such a strong point and a point that people did not know about. |
Brilliant advert! |
With this advert! |
I was really confused, I know it has something to do with Palm oil. |
But it has nothing to do with island! |
I think you should make something, Specially for this advert, Maybe a shampoo |
I know that this advert was banned from Tv for being 'too political', but I don't understand why! |
? |
If wildlife foundations and charities and such are allowed to speak out about the same issues and show the same type of footage on adverts, why can Iceland not do so too? |
They have removed palm oil for a VERY good reason! |
This advert is extremely upsetting and emotional - as it should be - this message needs to get across to people somehow. |
Not many people will know how many orang utans are killed each day until seeing this advert - I cartainly did not realise it was that many. |
It is time for people to wake up regarding this issue - this advert is just the thing to do that. |
It is direct to the point and clear. |
The music adds to the sad emotion of the message and overall it is all very well made. |
Well done, Iceland, for trying to bring important matters to the population's attention and showing that you are not all about selling your products to make a massive profit. |
An important storyline that needs to be seen. |
The music was moving and well-fitted, the illustration simple but well done. |
The voiceover felt a little awkward but this ad carries such an important message and was very moving, while also being a really good talking point for parents and children. |
Great job, Iceland. |
Wonderful, important and selfless advert that is incredible in it's bravery and vision. |
It is completely different to what other brands are doing and is memorable. |
This was a brilliant animated advert about a serious issue regarding the deforestation issue that's affecting the orangutan's native habitat. |
I really liked the beautifully hand drawn animation that has a children's picture book feel to it, and the message was expressed super effectively. |
It was very touching near the end. |
Overall I thought it was superb. |
It is the epitome of effective corporate social responsibility by Iceland as a brand. |
The use of colourful and dark setting backgrounds gives the advert both a powerful dual purpose role as brand awareness and a political tool. |
The storyline is very well made. |
The video is having a very strong background message. |
The animations are perfect. |
The text as well is good encrypted in the storyline. |
Overall I agree with the message and the video. |
This advert is a wonderful, emotional, education, thoughtful and charitable advert that is exactly what Christmas is all about. |
I hope it makes people take notice! |
important message. |
im glad Iceland are addressing this issue. |
effective delivery via a cool animation. |
other supermarkets could take some notes. |
about time we took action against the palm oil trade |
Mmm, yes this video have a sad story because some people was destroyed the forest for palm oil and when they destryed the forest they destroyed the monkey's house. |
It was certainly effective. |
This advert nearly had me in tears watching it. |
The point where it changed from simple 2D animation to 3D animation was a real shock. |
And the shift in tone really helped with the drama. |
Going from child like innocence to shocking reality. |
Was hard to watch. |
But I feel worked for what was intended. |
gets the message across . |
The jungle book theme is good . |
the advert is a little dark but thats what the message is for . |
well produced and hits home hard. |
well done |
This is a very touching and IMPORTANT commercial video. |
I love the poem and that it`s based on a cartoon. |
Very catchy and I hope it makes people think. |
Well done! |
very political and i think this is green peace actually, but I know Iceland is behind and involved in this. |
Very good advert, not the most Christmas like if that's what its meant to be. |
But at the minute this topic is high on the agenda of most people saving the planet and this sort of advert really makes Iceland look very good and caring. |
I certainly will consider shopping there now. |
well done Iceland for supporting this sort of advert. |
As far as meaningful adverts go I really enjoyed this one it has a very strong message. |
It has nothing to do with Christmas though and should not be marketed as though it is. |
that is a fantastic advert. |
The voice acting in it is amazing and the whole story of it is fantastic it sends a clear message |
Style was beautiful, I loved the images and the voice of the woman was easy to understand. |
It made me feel guilty and like I have to do something as well to stop this. |
Is this a Christmas advert? |
It has no relation at all. |
The art is horrible. |
Why has everything got to be a poem nowadays? |
They are awful poems as well. |
wow, a beautiful video about the monkeys, the video has a lot of facts in it and looks really cool too, the voice is really deep and upfront. |
Very childish start but very engaging towards the end. |
really did connect as the video went on. |
Respected the brand for focussing on unique item. |
this is a very good cause, now into the video I like the girl's voice narrating the story and I love the art style as it might look old but is really impressive and reminds us of older times. |
I felt really happy about the girl's decision on what to do! |
It has a good story and message about how we should save the rain forest and gives a positive message to the audience. |
The narrator doesn't sound engaged at the start but overall I like the advert and how it promotes No Palm Oil but it is not much about Christmas but would be a good advert throughout the rest of the year |
This advert is one of the best ones I've seen. |
These animals deserve more care and a lot more attention they really really do. |
its okay. |
the video is beautiful i liked very much, music theme fit the video and is very great, i like the idea a lot, sound and image are consistent with the subject. |
very touching sad advert however it is nothing at all to do with Christmas spirit. |
it is a very good advert for any other time of the year. |
This ad is very touching and it wants people to stop deforestation. |
The ad also tells people that iceland wants the best of people so they will remove the products from the store. |
The ad is very smooth and it tells a story before actually advertising iceland. |
really powerful advert and a very hot topic in the media at the moment love the 'flashback' to the forrest and that they make friends at the end didn't realise it was a christmas advert and could be played at any time of the year |
It's pretty sad ad but I love that trancition also I love that monkey just everything is good at this . |
. |
actor voice is sooo good just perfect for me |
a very well produced advert. |
really liked to use of the animal cartoon and the child like language used. |
a moving and emotional advert that provokes change. |
It is very unclear what this has to do with Iceland. |
But it does raise awareness surrounding deforestation and its effects on our planet at the minute. |
The animation in the advert is well done and brings the story to life brilliantly. |
This is a very heart touching advert of a monkey very sad of other monkeys passing away. |
This is showing that you should save all the monkeys in the world. |
This advert shows the many attempts a few make to make a difference. |
it is a sad story of how greedy humanity has become and how little with think of the damage we cause. |
"no palm oil for christmas" title seems a little hypocrite, to make a change it shouldnt be just christmas. |
overall the story line was good, it has its meaning but a little hypocrit and doesnt really show any christmas spirit at all. |
This was a very powerful advert with a great message! |
I really enjoyed the colourful cartoon characters and this advert will really appeal to children and get them interested in the environment. |
Overall a very good advert. |
The ad is very well made. |
It is creative and entertaining and yet it focuses on a major world issue that needs peoples attention. |
People wonder why animals are seen near cities but dont realize that it is because of humans that the animals have lsot their own homes. |
The ad does mention a solution in terms of palm oil, however, the way it is mentioned that message is lost to the deeper issue. |
I really enjoy the advert and think it sends out an important message and the dangers animals face which can sometimes go unnoticed. |
This should be on tv and not banned. |
very sad advert. |
I liked the use of rhym. |
However it was very childish over a very serious issue. |
It conveyed a message but why is it linked to Iceland. |
At first i thought it was a commertical promoting some kind of children product like a shampoo. |
But closer to the end it turned out to be a social commertial for awearness. |
The advert had a good poem that was read over the top. |
It rhymed nicely and conveyed a good message. |
You wouldn't of guessed that this was for Iceland if the Iceland logo wasn't in the top corner. |
This advert does not capture the spirit of Christmas IN ANY WAY. |
I have a real issue with this advert, not for the message it conveys, but for the fact that it is being marketed as a Christmas advertisement yet is shamelessly using an issue such as the destruction of the rainforest to gain viewing figures and therefore boost sales. |
It is a win-win for Iceland; they advertise a sensitive issue such as this and people listen to it, or people see through it for what it is and others jump to their defence because "how can you not want to save orangutans? |
" Shame on your Iceland, shame on you Malcolm Walker. |
The anti-Christmas advert. |
Very motivational! |
Great Commercial for children to help them understand what is going on. |
From watching the ad, I didn't know it was for iceland. |
I really really liked this video ; it talks about deforestation and the products that contain palm oil and why it is safe to buy from Iceland. |
I also like how use a poem which rhymes to connect with the audience. |
I also liked how you used a child to represent what will happen and to stop to make the larger audience feel emotional and also to sign up and to save the animals from deforestation. |
I especially like the character's voice which is very clear and easy to understand. |
I strongly support this AD ,it really shows how much we are destroying our world and killing animals and making them do this i diss agree with the ban. |
I don't like this video because I don't see even snow or rainy day. |
For Christmas video needs to have snow also to be rainy or something like that. |
Actor voices are so good I love it! |
i have seen this before with publicity it got by being banned for being 'too political'. |
i love everything about it the message is something real that we should all be talking about and i absolutely love the art style |
It is great to see Iceland trying to act for a good cause, even if Palm Oil replacements are also damaging; the storyline was good and it had me invested, although the voice acting was weak. |
It was nice to see a non-white child used. |
This advert shows that we are damaging the habitats of wild life for ours luxuries. |
It is very saddening but portrays a good message. |
I like this advert. |
Deliberately emotionally manipulative "adverts" like this really get on my nerves. |
Feels fake, and like Iceland are just doing this for publicity. |
Well produced, written, and made; but totally the wrong tone. |
Don't like the colours, the music, or the story. |
A very touching and impressive advert which gets its message across powerfully. |
I like the strong voiced narration and the pictures are well drawn and interesting. |
Personally I love the message in this commercial - I cannot understand why it has been banned, people need to be aware of what is happening to the natural habitat of these beautiful creatures. |
Quite a moving ad but for christmas advertising it is very novel and some people will appreciate the sustainability and save the earth factor ans start shopping in Iceland. |
I don't think this is a Christmas advert but is a good advert at making people aware of what is going on. |
It looks as if its aimed at really young children so maybe too young for this advert. |
This ad has improved my view of Iceland’s ethics. |
I appreciate that they have put promoting the palm oil awareness ad above promoting their actual products. |
As a Xmas ad, this really stands out as different because it does not seem driven by profit. |
I like the sentiment behind it, when you see the cause it's for at the end, but when you first watch the advert it's rather confusing and the rhyming story letting is a little odd. |
The story is cute, but the graphics are rather dated and not clear. |
You loose interest early on, as it doesn't make sense until the end. |
The storyline is very different, showing how man is destroying the planet. |
The style is both informative & eyecatching. |
The animation is excellent, and the images of the destruction of the rainforest are thought provoking. |
The actor narrating the ad is excellent. |
There is no music. |
A haunting & sad advert |
Excellent video highlighting the plight of the orangutan. |
The story line was straight to the point explained in a simple way so children could understand. |
It made me feel sad and i wont buy any palm oil products. |
Devastatingly sad advert. |
I am aware that this has been banned for being too political. |
But I disagree I think Iceland have pushed the envelope with this one and well done to them. |
Even though this advert is very upsetting it is still a valid concept and a great way to make a point. |
It also shows that Iceland are not afraid to tackle difficult and serious issues. |
I think in the long run Iceland will gain a lot of custom from being so ahead in their thinking and what their customers would like. |
All I can say is I am very impressed. |
This advert is very confusing and I don't actually know what this has got to do with christmas. |
This advert would be ok for a general time of the year but nothing connected to Christmas. |
The cartoon version is good and then it goes into the real images of them. |
Good way to get across the dire situation of some of the animals homes we are destroying. |
It's good that Iceland are supporting this, and i think this advert is very clever and makes you watch it to the end |
This advertise is so touching and raw with its honesty. |
Hard to believe it's from Iceland. |
It was banned for being too political, but it has the perfect message and storyline to resonate with people. |
A very strong narrative from this brand with a good message however I prefer something more seasonal. |
I can see how this would appeal but not for me. |
Best advert ever made and I can not understand why this can not be shown on TV. |
There are so many of us that did not understand the devastation to the rainforests for the use of Palm Oil until we saw this advert. |
It is so easy to understand and a good storyboard. |
I for one will be carefully checking products and using Iceland own products so I can do my little bit to help |
Looks cheap and childlike, the story is sad and has huge impact in a nightmare type way. |
Very strong message but a strange time of year to do this leading up to Christmas as on seasonality or products shown |
It took a while to figure out what this ad was about then I realised. |
I know there is a lot of controversy regarding this ad however I think it should be allowed to be shown as it raises important points. |
Great ad. |
A very well produced advertisement from Iceland. |
The advert combine together feelings of togetherness, caring and creativeness. |
I love the poetic words. |
Kept me following and dreaming with the advert. |
This advert is heartbreaking and makes a real change to the usual advert. |
It's a very important message and it needs to get across into mainstream media. |
This is a fantastic advert that has been banned from our TVs. |
It shows the world what is happening to our forests and makes us think about what we are buying. |
I liked the video because of the message, it is something worth fighting for to make this world a better place for everyone. |
The animation is really good, the characters are cute and relatable, and snuggly and fun, especially the orangutan, and all in all has a positive vibe about it. |
Shame this ad was stopped from tv as it makes a very serious point and needs to be seen. |
Emma Thompson is the perfect voice. |
A great way to get an environmental message across. |
I thought the rhyming made it easier to follow and held my interest. |
I would have preferred stronger colours though to contrast with the black elements. |
What a moving advertisement for Iceland, well done to them for high lighting the problems for the orangutan, and for removing palm oil from their products. |
Hope others follow. |
What a powerful video. |
This made me feel weepy - it's such a tragedy. |
This video was excellent. |
It's a cartoon, but nonetheless discusses a very serious, heartbreaking issue. |
I can see this video doing a lot of positive things, not only for the Iceland brand, but in the way consumers spend their money potentially. |
The advert was really good. |
I liked the fact that it was a rhyming poem and the animation that went with it was really good. |
Although it did seem a little bit graphic considering the presentation of the ad being an animation. |
I think this would give my 4 year old the wrong impression about humans, but still a good message. |
Love this ad and am passionate about these environmental catastrophes that are happening worldwide. |
These animals like many need their habitat protected. |
Food manufacturers, retailers and growers have got to start being more responsible. |
Well done Iceland it is a start with the palm oil. |
At Christmas time we should have the time to reflect. |
I feel very confused about what this has to do with Iceland at Christmas time ? |
there commercials are normally more festive, this was just odd, I did like the animation until it went dark. |
I love this advert and cannot understand why it has been banned. |
This is an important message that needs to get out there. |
I do like the mixture of animation and reality. |
The production values are exceptional. |
This is an attention grabbing advert that has a very important message, which is put across in an emotional way. |
There is not enough awareness about what we are doing to our planet, so it is great to see major companies fighting for such causes. |
Iceland has recently had great press from the vegan & environmentalist community for realising their brand of 'no bull' vegan burgers, so it is fantastic to see them supporting such an important campaign as the significant impact that palm oil is having to the orangutans. |
The commercial was very cleverly done, the cartoon & 'pet' perspective will appeal to the younger generation, & the message will have an emotional impact on adults. |
An excellent & well presented advert from a major supermarket company, regarding a very import issue. |
Well done Iceland, |
This excellent animation and narration succeeds very well in portraying the plight of the Orang Utang currently. |
It is and excellent animation film for Iceland to use to send the message to its customers that it will no longer have palm oil products in its stores. |
The film changing from colour to black and white portrays the sinister environment Palm Tree farmers are working in well too. |
This is at first a lovely animated piece, until I realise it is about saving orangutans in the rain forest. |
Orangutans are being forced out of their natural habitat for humans to have palm oil. |
There is a wonderful rhyming , talk through which tells of the plight of the orangutans. |
It is showing how humans should be ashamed. |
Very nicely presented, and hard hitting. |
There are cartoon style actors. |
The advert is very brightly coloured. |
A subtle music playing along in the background. |
The commercial showed some serious issues that occur in some parts of the world such as the non-sustainable palm tree cultivation. |
Nonetheless, it is a commercial for a supermarket company and it is hard for the people to understand what they are trying to achieve because the food they sell does not always come from sustainable sources. |
Overall, the quality of the ad is good and the message is straight-forward. |
the idea is very good, very right, at the begging looks sweet and funny, but later, although its still cartoon is terrifying. |
I hope it doeas its job. |
i really enjoyed this advert. |
it was a cartoon so my kids really enjoyed it to. |
the monkey was really sweet and innocent. |
they really need out help. |
Great stuff! |
I love the funny little poem, and how the animation takes on a frightening tone when we find out why the Orangutan is in the little girl's room. |
Better still, she actually asked it why it was there. |
I liked that. |
Good to see Iceland doing something constructive for the environment, and that's something worth advertising. |
Nothing to do with Christmas, though! |
This is a very meaning full advert and is liked by many . |
I think it is very sad but hits home about the world around us . |
This is a brilliant advert that engages and enchants whist putting across a really serious message. |
The animation is at the right level and the content is delivered beautifully. |
What a creative advert with such a powerful message. |
I never expected anything that strong. |
This will have people thinking about the environment so much. |
Best wishes Tim BSc x 2, MSc both in Environmental Studies |
The Iceland No Palm Oil at Christmas has to be one of the least Christmas advert ever and I can see this having a detrimental effect on Iceland sales in the festive period. |
Unfortunately most people won't either know or care about palm oil in the season of excess and the advert is far too long to hold the attention of many. |
But its a great idea and it sets out a really worthwhile concept, but its needs to snappier and used in the new year. |
Its also not political. |
i think it sends a good message and has a cute video, i enjoyed it because it wasn't plain and boring. |
the music could have been a little better. |
I think this was an excellent commercial from iceland. |
The animation was done reallly. |
The video makes me want to go out and shop in iceland more. |
Its also excellent that iceland is keeping palm oil out this christmas because it shows they really are trying to do a good thing. |
The animated storyline was fantastic. |
I also really liked the cartoon style that was used. |
The actors were very convincing it made me feel like going to iceland. |
This is a really superb advert from Iceland, it is thought provoking and quite sad really. |
The fact that it has been banned is really upsetting too. |
The animation is colorful and appealing and the narrator has a pleasant tone. |
This advert for Iceland and their No Palm Oil Christmas campaign is both entertaining and educational, bringing to attention to the fact deforestation is destroying the Orangutan's habitat and leading to their loss. |
I found it to be hard hitting and illuminating. |
Brilliant advert from Iceland, this is one advert that gets us thinking about the way we treat out planet and how we need to make changes to save it |
Its a shame this advert has been banned from christmas this year as i believe it sends an incredibly powerful and important message. |
Its very well done with great animation and a lovely style. |
This advert is quite poignant and a little scary perhaps for younger viewers who might be captured by the child as lead character. |
Good use of rhyme makes the message more memorable. |
A thought provoking advert that is sure to attract attention. |
Very strong message that took a while to explain, scary for children but profoundly adequate for adults to get up and do something about it . |
Iceland to remove palm oil was a big statement from them, wel;l done them |
Very emotional and moving. |
The storyline is gripping and realistic. |
The voice over is lovely. |
This gives a clear message about pollution and thinking about your shop. |
Poignant and significant and absolutely necessary to make people aware of the plight of the forests. |
Ashamed that this advert has been banned, it should be seen everywhere and for always to protect our planet. |
I think that this advert is very good as it highlights problems in the world. |
It also rhymes catching attention. |
The animation is very good. |
Cute advert, but also sad and emotional, it spreads a good message about orangutans. |
I enjoyed the style and thought the actors were cute. |
Overall i enjoyed the story line and images. |
Oh this was alovely story suitable for small children and told with such intrigue and love. |
The visuals were so colourful and the mischief of the rangtan was also great fun, this was fun for familties the world over and I loved it. |
This one was very beautiful and brought tears to my eyes. |
I never knew that farming palm oil had such an effect on the world. |
Very sadly, that people break natural living conditions of animals worldwide. |
We simply do not reflect, that they affliction from our intervention in their world |
A really nice advert with a good strong message behind it which i understood fully. |
A well put together piece with nice bright, colorful visuals |
this advertisement really made me feel sad and also emotional, and like i wanted to help save the monkeys from deforestation by support the charity |
Clever and thought provoking but the ape will be extinct soon regardless of this. |
So we are left feeling helpless and sad. |
Not a good Christmas ad |
I feel that the advert was really good, it has a good production and good script and also good animations and music. |
But the advert was for a company that was not fit for the advert. |
The advert should have been for a charity company not Iceland. |
This commercial is very moving and at the same time transmits a powerful message which should be made viral, the design is spectacular as well as the graphics. |
I think the advertisement was beautiful. |
The story it had behind it was really powerful and effective. |
The change in how the orangutan was seen as bad at the start and then it flipped over and the human was seen bad was really powerful! |
I can't believe this was banned - its crazy! |
I think it delivers a powerful message and is a good way of bringing peoples awareness to the devastation of the rain forests - especially young children - as Whitney Houston once said 'I believe the children are our future' and i think she was right! |
I think this advert has a very sad back story to it the music is quite cool not a lot though but it does have a good story line. |
This is a very powerful advertisement. |
The like the way it is constructed. |
The message is clear. |
I would say the commercial could be shorter. |
The narration was beautiful and the imagery while at times was disturbing was well constructed. |
The story engaged me at once and the style was unpredictable and incredible. |
The music was subtle enough to allow the narration to shine. |
one powerfull advert. |
so the should remove palm oil. |
and other things that harms wild life. |
sad to see this in our world we liveing |
Another nice heartwarming tale told nicely as paret of a christmas advert. |
It is alarming to know that this could be true and where palm oil comes from. |
The commercial is very delicate and refined at the same time. |
The style is suitable to be enjoyed to all ages, especially for children, which are those who need to be educated in order to preserve animals on the planet. |
I liked the wit using of rhymes and the contrast of colorful cartoon with the black & white documentary style regarding the human destroying the environment. |
The timing of images and rhymes was perfect. |
